Our Story

In the 1970s, BIS Computer Solutions began its journey by transforming wholesale distribution and retail management through the use of mainframe computers and simple terminals. What started as basic automation soon evolved into dynamic, industry-specific software solutions that redefined efficiency.

By the early 1980s, BIS took its next major leap migrating our proprietary systems onto hardware-independent platforms. Thanks to a strong partnership with IBM, we successfully designed and deployed applications for leading retail chains such as Trader Joe’s, Petco, and Price Club (which later merged with Costco).

As technology advanced through the 1990s, BIS re-engineered its software to take advantage of modern graphical interfaces introducing point-and-click selections, intuitive navigation, and user-friendly displays that streamlined client operations.

With the turn of the millennium, we continued to innovate, adopting open architecture and modern platforms to create scalable, future-ready solutions. A long-term platinum partnership with Oracle soon followed, enabling us to integrate our expertise in mobile technology beginning with Palm Pilots and evolving into today’s iPhone and Android applications with barcode scanning for warehousing, retail, and service industries.

In 2010, we expanded further into IT and networking services, addressing challenges across software, hardware, communications, and infrastructure to deliver complete, end-to-end solutions.
